Dear Americarna Team

Full marks and a big thank you for a well run event. Sure the weather wasn't so good (we drove down from Auckland on Wednesday) but the runs, concert and fair were great and the standard of the cars (and participants) was high.

One thing that we really appreciated was the inclusion in the registration pack of the list of services available. Our Chevy (bright, bright yellow '56 Chevy pickup truck - 3200 long wheel base) had just come back from a 20 month rebuild and it had a strong petrol smell wafting around the cab - very unpleasant. We phoned Steve Hildred Motors and they took us in at short notice and fixed the problem within an hour. It was great - the Chevy was a pleasure to drive thereafter!!

Once again thank you for putting on a great event.

Kind regards

Trevor Walsh

Hi Toni,
Just thought I would drop you a quick email to thank you and your team for an amazing weekend.
It was our first americana, and right from the moment we registered everyone was more than happy to explain everything in great detail and not rush you on.
The opportunity to actually cruse on the open road, through the main street of New Plymouth on Friday and seeing all the the towns come alive in American fashion was a major highlight.
As  young car enthusiasts its great to go to a car event an everyone be treated equally .
Well done! We will see you in 2014 and hopefully drag down some more of our club members to show them Americana New Plymouth is the place to be!
Thanks Again,
Carlene & Jack Rainbow.

Our first visit to Americarna Taranaki is without a doubt a memory encased with us forever.  The hospitality shown to us by John & Diane Rae and their family, Toni Fabish, Lydia & Shaun, Sheryl, the people of the small town stops, the volunteers, the departments involved and the people on route throughout was impeccable.

We met up with long lost friends and made many new lasting friends from throughout New Zealand and further afar.  The camaraderie of Hot Rodding is obviously still alive and kicking.  We sincerely hope that all other entrants enjoyed the event as much as we did and that you all had a safe and happy trip home.  See you all again in 2014.  AMERICARNA ROCKS !!!!

Hello Toni,

I just wanted to contact you and say, on behalf of all the staff and residents here at Chalmers, a heartfelt thank you to you and all the other people that gave up their time (and petrol) to come and visit us here at Chalmers. The residents loved it all and especially the rides they had. They were all buzzing for ages afterwards. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Please pass our thanks on to the others that came to Chalmers too. We really appreciated it. See you in 2014!!

Kind regards,

Hi JR, Toni and the team,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the great few days at Americana Taranaki. What an awesome time we had. We were blown away with the way things flowed together during the whole event. That does not happen with out the supportof a great team effort and the locals just made the whole event fantastic. Deb and I are both born and breed Naki guys now Matamata and this being our first Americana just confirmed that we will be back. The gymCARna was heaps of fun and achieving second place in the short wheel base was the icing on the cake.

Cheers Peter and Debbie Hopkins

Hi AmeriCarna Staff,

I have got to say that Chris and I have had the most enjoyable time and we have met so many new chums that a simple thanks seems a little trite under the circumstances. As a paramedic I was somewhat worried at the stress which was evident on JR, but to his credit he prevailed and with some good fortune will head up the team to ensure another successful event can be staged in 2014. To Toni, thanks for your assistance pre our arrival (albeit late), you were able to ensure that we were well catered for. We ended up having a permanent ride with Ash Peters which was just terrific.

You mentioned the night run through New Plymouth in the newsletter, we have not experienced this before and the memory of this will linger large in our minds for some time.

I have spoken to my mate Ken (’47 Ford) and we are hopeful to bring him and his wife along with us next time Americarna is upon us. Ken has been to many events around the globe and I truly excited him with my tales of Americarna; maybe we could insight an Aussie invasion!

Once again, thanks and congratulations on this year’s Americarna; you can bet we will be back.
