Bob & Carol Brkick's 1937 Ford Cabriolet

July 2013

Bob & Carol Brkick's 1937 Ford Cabriolet

Sometimes the cars we drive find us. Bob Brkich says that he wasn’t actively looking for a car like his new ’37 Cabriolet, but he is a car guy, and he was at a car show, and if you hang around the candy store long enough, you are sure to find a treat that you didn’t know you needed.

He says he was at The Roadster Show in San Luis Obispo and the car was for sale, and the more he walked around it, the more Bob liked it. He had been very interested in these kinds of cars, but being a taller gentleman, he had encountered problems fitting in them comfortably, but he fit in this one.

The 350 under the hood is neatly detailed with polished aluminum trimmings and is topped with a four-barrel and a custom twin element air cleaner. Backing the engine is a 700R4 and a Ford 9” rear. It’s all nestled in a detailed Coast-to-Coast chassis featuring air bags, rack & pinion steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. A set of 18 and 22” Foose wheels are bolted to the corners.
