Newsletter 23 July 2018

Hi All

Well we’re there! All the major funders including Mainstream Global, who were committed to 2019 before the end of this year’s event, have advised us of their commitment for 2019 with one committing for the next three years.

TVET (Taranaki Vehicle Events Trust) are just awaiting the signed agreements and then registration will open, hopefully next week.  Nadine will put out a post advising registration is open.

 REGISTRATION COST

We have increased the registration costs slightly to cover some of the ever increasing costs of the event.

MONTH REGISTRATION FORM SUBMITTED & RECIEVED

REGISTRATION FEE

PER VEHICLE & DRIVER

PASSENGERS

AGED 15 YEARS & OVER

August

$135.00

$50.00 per passenger

September

$150.00

$50.00 per passenger

October, November & December

$175.00

$50.00 per passenger

January & February

$200.00

$50.00 per passenger

Please note that the Registration Fee includes

  • 4 x day Event Entry;
  • Wednesday Welcome;
  • Saturday Farewell Function;
  • Eligibility for Spot Prizes

Why the stepped entry fee?  Simple, those who leave it till close to the event to register add additional workload that Nadine and Aimee (my P.A) are unable to cope with and we have to contract in an additional person to do the processing along with other tasks.

 So the incentive is there to register early.  Passengers will still be the same at $50.00 and the registration fee includes access to the functions.

 NEW FOR 2019 – SPOT PRIZES

  • Only registered entrants and passengers will be eligible for spot prizes.
  • No wrist band, no prize.
  • At the morning giveaways, Nadine and Bob will be spread amongst the entrants to choose prize winners to make it fairer for everyone.
  • We will have a substantial amount of prizes again this year to give away.

NEW FOR 2019 – WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WELCOME FUNCTION

This year it will be held at the TSB Stadium from 3:00pm (same location as registration and where we depart from daily).

So cruise back from Opunake to the Stadium, get your free beverage and snack from the BBQ (tickets included in registration), get out the deck chair, sit back and relax, listen to the band or mingle – meet old mates and meet new mates.  “If wet” we will be inside the Stadium.

This leaves the evening free for you to do what you want.

The previous functions have had acceptable attendance, however a number of you have told us you prefer to chill or catch-up with friends on the Wednesday night.  So we will try this for 2019 and see how it goes.  Personally I can see it going off.

 NEW ZEALAND NEW MUSTANGS

OK, not that long ago one of the emails mentioned the New Zealand New Mustangs.  There has been plenty of positive feedback and naturally some not, which we expected.

So therefore the deal for 2019 is, anyone who attended Americarna 2018 with a new NZ RHD Mustang can enter for 2019.  That’s it.

Any new LHD American vehicles are acceptable as these will typically be special interest vehicles, which along with all the Classics, Customs and Hot Rods, is what Americarna has been built on.

We look forward to your entries coming in early.  There will be some other announcements being made in the coming weeks.

 Cheers,

JR, Nadine and TVET Board Members
